In an analysis of 10 million credit reports and scores, credit reporting bureau TransUnion found that most consumers are using more than 50 percent of their available credit. Since many experts recommend a 30 percent or less credit utilization ratio, it begs an important question during the credit repair process: How much does using more than half of your available credit hurt your credit score?
